The start of my Younique Journey

Written by Amy

I guess technically, I joined Younique on the 22nd of June 2015, but I didn't actually start doing anything until the 1st of July. This was my first party and my first order, so for me, that's when I started.

It all came about in Australia. I was staying with a friend of a friend just outside Sydney at the end of my trip and there were boxes of Younique products all over her house as well as an excessive amount of makeup in the bathroom. I has seen a few posts, briefly on Facebook that another girl (friends of these 2 friends) had put up, but then it disappeared. I'd had a quick look at it and not really thought anything of it at all, but now I was seeing it every day and my curiosity was piqued so I finally asked "What is this?".

At this point, my new friend started spouting her love of Younique and how she would never use another makeup as it was so good for her skin and less expensive that other mineral based makeup. She then went on to tell me about her sponsor (another friend from the UK) and how well she was doing and how Younique changed her life. So I tried it.

The Initial Attraction

The first thing was that I loved the makeup. Of course, the mascara was what my friend had me try first. I've always had quite long eyelashes anyway and had never been particularly picky with my mascara. I didn’t know anything at all about makeup and had just run out of mascara. The reason I didn't have a new one was that I had no clue which one to buy. I had spent several trips to Boots walking up and down the mascara section and leaving with nothing, so I was open to trying it and hoping I liked it. So I put it on and was amazed. I spend a good 3 or 4 minutes just staring at my eyelashes from different angles in mirror! Through the day. I'd stop and look at them in different reflections. I fell in love with it.

So now I was interested. The next day I tried on a full face of makeup; foundation, powder, eye pigments, eye liner, mascara, lip stain.... I don't wear makeup often and I find that when I do, I know it's there. The next day, my face feels oily, even though I took it off before bed. I feel like I need to wash my face again when I get up. Younique did not let me down. I hardly noticed it all day. In fact, I forgot I was wearing makeup at all. At one point in a bathroom I caught sight of myself in the mirror and thought wow, I'm pretty! I also wore it on the plane home. After arriving in London 23 hours later, I didn't feel like I had to scrub my face. Not any more than you generally do after a long haul flight anyway!

The Start Of Something...

I signed up 8 days after getting home. After much deliberating and pacing. I wanted the mascara for myself and I wanted everyone else to try it. I actually can't understand now why anyone would wear anything else. This one is the best and you're crazy if you don't try it out just to stick to the one you know. I guarantee that after trying this, you'll never go back. I love the products and I want everyone to know that there is something this good out there. Anyone who wears makeup will have their life improved by using Younique and it's now my mission to do that. To make everyone's life better with beautiful eyelashes and mineral skin products.

    • Thank you so much, I’m glad you enjoyed it. I just felt that every Younique presenter out there posts about how amazing it is (and it is!) but very few tell you that they struggled, so I wanted to have an honest and full account of my journey for people to see and make informed decisions about joining or not.

    • Hey, yes I do seem to get a lot of spam. Mostly it’s just nonsense that’s been google translated and makes no sense. I have to approve all my comments so at lease they don’t get splatted all over my page.

is required on the web, someone with a bit of originality!

Do you come across any browser compatibility problems?

A few my blog audience have complained about my website not working correctly in Explorer but looks great in Opera.
Have you got any solutions to assist fix this issue?

    • Hey Ronnie, I’ve not come across any browser difficulties, though I haven’t tried it in Explorer. The only thing I’ve found is that the banner at the top of the page doesn’t optimise for mobile the way the rest of the site does so it gets a little bit cropped off. Where are you hosting your site?

  • When I originally commented I clicked the “Notify me when new comments are added” checkbox and now each time a comment is added I
get three e-mails with the same comment. Is there any way you can remove people from that service?

  • I’m not sure why but this site is loading very slow for me.

Is anyone else having this issue or is it a issue on my end?
I’ll check back later on and see if the problem still exists.

    • Hi Lamar, are you still having issues loading the site? I’ve been doing some work on it just recently so that may the reason, but I have also noticed that changing pages seems to be delayed. I thought maybe it was because I was doing it from the admin side…

    • Aw thank you so much Morgan! That’s very kind of you to share it and I’m glad you got enough value to pass on.

  • My brother suggested I might like this website.
He was entirely right. This post actually made my day.

You cann’t imagine simply how much time I had spent for this info!

  • I think what you published made a ton of sense.
However, consider this, what if you were to write a awesome post title?

I ain’t suggesting your information is not solid, however suppose you added something that makes people desire more?
I mean The start of my Younique Journey – My Face and Body Blog is a little vanilla.
You ought to peek at Yahoo’s home page and watch how
they create post headlines to grab viewers interested.
You might try adding a video or a related pic or two to grab readers excited about what
you’ve got to say. Just my opinion, it would make your website a little livelier.

    • Hi Leesa, thank you so much for your comment and I do agree. I got a little over excited to just get started and pick a few things on a whim that I haven’t gotten around to changing yet. I have someone working on a redesign of the site for the new year and am planning on taking it in a bit of a different direction as well. I really appreciate you opinion and that you to the time to offer your advice to held me out 🙂
